It means balance in Sanskrit. I have it tattooed on my foot as a reminder to never live in raja (motion) or tamas (rest).
I went to a yoga retreat that was based around these guna’s. She liked to use the metaphor of a garden. Where if you over tend or under tend you will get poor results.
I like to think of my animals. My next shepherd will be named Rajas, and my next cat will be tamas. These, to me, personify the words perfectly. A home with both types of animal would have sattva. This equal exchange of energy allows us to be mindful, and truly listen to life.
After all, animals seem to have perfected balance in life. Dogs especially. Right now Bo and I are practicing tamas. He’s literally keeping me from moving. I suspect in an hour we will practice rajas.

I am a mom of 3 who recently went back to work. Before that I stayed home. While staying home I decided I was tired of being fat, so I lost the 65 pounds I had gained during my 3 pregnancies. I have kept it off for a year and a half, and now want to help others learn how easy losing weight and exercising can be even in a hectic life like I have.
WOW!! Fast forward 3.5 years. I've kept the weight off!
My goal now is to provide support for people who are having massive life changes like I did. I've lost everything and come out a much happier and more grounded person. I'm struggling with how much to share.
It's been a long road and I wasn't sure how it was going to end at times, but synchronicity has brought me a long way and my faith has been restored.
In this blog I want to organize my journey for my own piece of mind, and provide a library of what worked for me. In addition I want to meet others and hear their stories to carry the synchronicity further.
